I came here looking for Screensavers. Where are the Screensavers?
Answer:
This Web site used to be called "Windows 95 & Mac Joke Wallpaper and Screensavers" so it is possible you followed an older link thinking you would get free Screensavers here. Well you can get lots of free Screensavers here...but it all depends on your definition of "Screensavers." We do not have the "Flying Windows" or "Flying Toaster" type of animated screensavers. But we do have lots of graphics you can use on your desktop if you have the "slide show" type of Screensaver program. Most new Windows 95 equipped computers come bundled with a program called "MS Scenes." This program allows you to set up a series of graphics, any graphics, and your computer will cycle through them as a Screensaver. You can program transitional wipes or dissolves between graphics. If you are running a Macintosh, Windows 3.1 or another system, spend a little time snooping around the shareware sites. There are lots o f free or shareware programs that do the same thing as "MS Scenes." Download one of these programs, install it, then come back to www.jokewallpaper.com and grab our FREE graphics to use on your Screensaver program! If you have a recommendation for one of these free/share programs for either Macintosh or Windows 95, send us an e-mail and we will add it right here. Be sure to let us know whether it's for Mac or Windows.
But here is the best Screensaver program to help the environment, the life of your hard drive, and lower your power bill. It's called "Energy Star." If you have a computer and monitor built in the last year or two there is a good chance you already have "Energy Star." Check out your "Help" section and see if it's there. On Windows 95 put your pointer on the desktop, do a right mouse click, choose "Properties", then choose "Screen Saver." If you see something that looks like this...
choose "None" and the time option, and it saves your screen and conserves energy. It's your part of saving the world environment. Don't you feel great! Go ahead, run outside and hug a tree! God, you're a great human being!
